Thanksgiving Party for Cru

It’s the time of year to say what you are grateful for and stuff your faces with food. Thanksgiving is the time to spend time with family and friends with laughter and stories from the past. Not a lot of clubs were able to do Thanksgiving dinners or lunches this year, but one club that did was ‘Campus Crusade for Christ’.

Cru is the club for Bible studying and connections between students and God. This club was able to have a Thanksgiving dinner, and a lot of members of the club enjoyed it.

Sergio Garcia-Reyes who is part of the club is looking forward to seeing one of his buddies.

“A buddy of mine from Kansas City is coming down to my hometown that I haven’t seen about a month, so I am really looking forward to seeing him.”

As this holiday season brings people closer together, Paul Cook is also looking forward to spending time with his family, playing family football.

“Spending time with family...Some family football and I’ll be out to tackle some of the nephews. Looking forward to it.”

With the opportunity of spending time with family, Tatum McFarland is looking forward to hanging out with her new dog over Thanksgiving as she is a dog-lover.

Homemade food for Thanksgiving is the best and Garcia-Reyes is excited pozole as his mother will be making it.

“My mom likes to make pozole which is a type of like stew type of thing and so she usually makes that, and we usually have friends over. Pozole is like corn but not exactly, it’s really hard to describe, but it has beef, has corn has few veggies.”

Cook is mostly having homemade desserts and main dishes, mostly just wanting to spend time with family, and McFarland is having ribs for her Thanksgiving this year.

All three of these students are looking grateful for their family along with pets, and are being able to spend time with them and also getting decorations up for Christmas.
