The game started at a fast pace for both teams, with Kaleb Washington making the first jump shot of the game for the Grizzlies giving them the early lead. This was quickly followed by a layup by Keah Paljor for Independence. The battle for dominance was fierce, as both teams were determined to not let the other one gain an advantage and then set the pace of game going forward. Both teams made a few turnovers allowing for a quick transition and easy buckets.

Amare Haynie for the Grizzlies was having a great game in the first half, he managed to get a few points in and was able to coordinate the defense so the Indy’s would not have any easy looks. The Grizzlies seemed to pull away in the last seven minutes and their offense plays could not be stopped by the Indy’s and the quarter finished with the Girzzlies have a double-digit lead, the half-finished 51-33.

The second half started, and Independence looked to get back in the game and reduce the Grizzlies lead in the game. Both teams made changes in the bench, with the players who played in the first half going to the bench and fresh players were subbed in. Amelo Rivano scored the first points for the Independence and was being highly active in the game, trying on both sides of the court and prevent the Butler Grizzlies from gaining advantage.

Despite their best effort, the Grizzlies offensive plays were unstoppable, Three-point plays were the Grizzlies easiest way to get points since a lot of players found themselves unguarded in the three-point line.

The Grizzlies dominated the rest of the half and looked poised to finish the game with a strong result. They finished the game with a lead of over 20 points, 106-79. The players left the court with a look of satisfaction in their faces, this makes the Grizzlies fifth game winning streak, and they look ready to take on Pratt on Wednesday, Feb 28th.
