Grizzlies Split with Coffeyville, Earn First Win of Season

COFFEYVILLE, Kan. – The No. 14 Butler Grizzlies picked up their first victory of the season on Friday, splitting a road doubleheader with Coffeyville.

Game 1 (7 Inn.) – Coffeyville 6, Butler 0

Butler was shut out in the opener, managing just two hits in 24 at-bats. Coffeyville produced seven hits and six runs in 25 at-bats.

Sophomore Ellie Randall (L, 0–3) made her third start of the season, allowing five hits, six runs (five earned), one walk, and one strikeout in 3.2 innings. Lena Ramsey was strong in relief, throwing 2.1 hitless innings with one walk and four strikeouts against nine batters.

Game 2 (7 Inn.) – Butler 9, Coffeyville 1

The Grizzlies responded in game two, securing their first win of the season with a 9–1 victory. Butler's offense came alive with eight hits in 28 at-bats.

Sophomore right fielder Kyler Demal went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Third baseman Emillee Stofferahn added a hit—a two-run home run—and finished with three RBIs.

Freshman Addison Chapman (W, 1–1) earned the first win of her collegiate career. She threw six innings, allowing just three hits and one earned run while recording five walks and four strikeouts.

Next up: The Grizzlies return to action Tuesday on the road against Labette in Parsons, Kansas. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
