His & Hers is an American mystery thriller series that was released Thursday, Jan. 8, on Netflix and is currently in the Top 10 as of today. The story is set in the small town of Dahlonege, Georgia, a quiet town that gets shaken up by a murder.
The series follows Anna (Tessa Thompson), a journalist who has withdrawn from her life after a personal tragedy of the loss of her daughter. She returns to Dahlonega to give a report on a murder case. Her ex-husband Jack (Jon Bernthal) is a detective and also on the case but because of the past experience they had together, things got tense between them.
As the investigation continues, the series keeps moving suspiciously from one character to another. Everyone of them seems to have something to hide. Just right when you feel like you know who did this, the story changes again. His & Hers has so much suspense that you can’t really tell who the murderer is. The ending has a surprising plot twist that connects the unknown to people’s pasts and secrets that have been hidden for a very long time.
The characters are so good in their roles, especially Thompson as Anna featured in the TV show. When Anna returned back home to cover the murder case. She doesn’t say much in the scene, but her face and body language shows how hurt she is still hurting from her past. This makes her character feel real and believable for viewers and help them understand her pain without having to explain it. Although some parts feel so confusing, it keeps viewers watching because they want to know the truth. The movie keeps moving in suspense from one character to another and sometimes new information changes then viewers thought they already understood but no. It makes the mystery more interesting and keeps the audience guessing. A lot of views as of today make it one of the Top 10 and most rated TV shows on Netflix..
