As the 2024 election approaches, it's important for Butler CC students and Kansas citizens to ensure they're registered to vote, so they can participate. Whether it's your first time voting or you've moved since the last election, here are the simple steps on how to register to vote in Kansas.
Who Can Register?
Before starting the registration process, make sure you meet these basic requirements:
Online Voter Registration
One of the easiest ways to register is online through the Kansas Secretary of State’s Voter Registration Portal. To complete the process online, you’ll need:

Paper Voter Registration
If you don’t have a Kansas ID, you can register by submitting a paper application. Forms are available on the Kansas Secretary of State's website or at local government offices like the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or post office. Simply fill out the form and mail it to your local county election office. Addresses for all Kansas county election offices can be found on the back of the voter registration form.
Deadlines to Remember
Kansas requires that voter registrations be submitted 21 days before any election. For this 2024 election, that means you must register by Tuesday, Oct. 15 to vote.
