Fall 2024 Letter from the Editor

Ella Boozer, editor-in-chief, writes the Fall 2024 letter from the editor.

Dear Butler Faculty and Peers,

I have been beyond grateful to have served as your editor-in-chief since Fall 2023. Designing and creating impactful stories has always been something that’s been compelling to me ever since I can remember.

In the two and a half years I’ve spent at Butler, I’ve grown to love the community of El Dorado and my fellow Grizzlies. Choosing Butler was the best decision I ever made to further my education. I’ve been working with BCTV for two years now and am loving every broadcast that BCTV+ brings you to watch at home.

I’ve harbored new relationships with faculty and mentors while making a few long-lasting friends along the way. Being able to produce stories that are impactful to those inside and outside of Butler Community College has been a skill that I’ll admire forever.

For the first issue of the Fall 2024 semester, my staff and I wanted to encapsulate the essence of powerful storytelling with a minimalistic design – representing the new academic staff and opportunities that students are offered.

This issue covers new staff changes and features to Theater department, Presidential staff, Butler Athletics and Foreign Language department. It additionally highlights a few organizations and facilities such as the Oil Hill reading events and the Redler Institute of Culinary Arts. While change is sometimes a new experience for people, it’s an adaptive one that students (current and future) are always positively receptive too.

We hope that this issue solidifies why Butler is the place to get your education and why being part of the Grizzly family matters.

With the Fall 2024 issue being my last first issue of the school year, I am so grateful for all the opportunities that have been presented to me while attending Butler. Here’s to another great school year and Go Grizzlies!

The Grizzly Magazine Editor-in-Chief,

Ella Boozer
