As the school year comes to a close, the negotiations over a new professional contract are nearing the end of their cycle. Throughout the school year, both the administration and the faculty negotiation team have walked through the steps of negotiation, including a notice up letter, federal mediation, and most recently, a fact finding hearing held on Wednesday, April 10 and Thursday, April 11.
The state of Kansas held its third-ever presidential primary on Tuesday, March 19, the first primary election since 1992.
This was a departure from the state’s typical caucus system and gave Kansans a chance to vote in one of the first milestones of the 2024 election. The change was authorized by a House Bill, passed in 2023 as state lawmakers hoped for a higher voter turnout. Unless a similar legislature is passed, the traditional caucus system will return for 2028.
