Breaking: Butler student passes away
On the Andover campus at 8:40 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, Butler Public Safety received a call from the Andover Police Department regarding a possible suicide south of the Facilities Building. Upon arrival on campus, this report was confirmed.
Butler CC President Kimberly Krull sent an email to all employees regarding this incident on Sunday, Oct. 6.
The Butler County Coroner and the District Attorney were notified as were the parents of the victim. Bill Rinkenbaugh, vice president of Student Services, has met with the family, and the student’s professors will be notified today.
At this time, the student’s name will not be released.
Counseling services are provided on the Andover and El Dorado campuses for employees and students.
