Butler Community College celebrated the artistic achievements of its faculty at the Butler CC Faculty Biennial – Artist Talks/Gallery Reception on Thursday, March 6. The event, held at the Erman B. White Gallery of Art, provided an opportunity for faculty artists to present their work, share insights into their creative processes and engage with students and community members.
The biennial exhibition, which highlights the artistic diversity and expertise of Butler CC faculty, featured a wide range of media, including painting, sculpture, photography and digital art. Faculty members discussed their inspirations, techniques and the evolving nature of their work during the artist talks.
“This exhibition is a wonderful way to showcase the creativity and dedication of our faculty,” said Rachel Curtis, one of the featured artists. “It allows students to see their instructors as working artists and gain a deeper appreciation for the artistic process.”
Many visitors expressed their admiration for the faculty’s work.
“I was really inspired by the variety of styles and techniques on display,” said Lal Tian Hlua, a Butler CC student. “Seeing our professors’ artwork in a gallery setting gives me a whole new perspective on their teaching and their artistic journey.”
Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions, engage in discussions with the artists and explore the various themes and styles represented in the exhibition. The reception fostered a vibrant atmosphere of artistic dialogue, strengthening the connection between faculty, students, and the local art community.
The Faculty Biennial will remain on display at the Erman B. White Gallery through Monday, April 7. The event is part of Butler CC’s ongoing commitment to supporting and promoting the arts, encouraging creative expression both in and beyond the classroom.
