Butler Lineage: New Leadership

The moment has passed, words have been exchanged, time has transpired and suddenly, as if the sun dawns its light in the mind, a clearer picture forms in hindsight. Is this relatable, or is it just me? Often emotions blur perception during situations, though it is personally getting easier to be aware of more in each moment when a little experience is applied, and the internal state is clear. The more a moment appears threatening or potentially unacceptable, the blurrier it can get.

The Lantern newspaper and The Grizzly Magazine return to Butler Community College with a total of 22 awards. In total, The Lantern earned 18 individual awards and also received second place in the Overall Kansas division among two-year colleges, and the magazine earned three individual awards. 

In a testament to her remarkable contributions to education and community development, Heather Rinkenbaugh, the dean of Online, High School, and Community Learning, as well as the interim vice-president (VP) of Academics has been honored as one of the Wichita Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. This prestigious recognition celebrates her dedication, vision and impact on the educational landscape.

Butler Community College is extending a heartfelt invitation to El Dorado residents and surrounding areas to join them in the upcoming Wichita Heart Walk on Saturday, June 29. This initiative is part of the college’s commitment to stand in solidarity with millions of Americans affected by heart disease and stroke, including members of the Butler family.

“The Vice President of Academics (VPA) reports directly to the college president and provides innovative leadership for the college and faculty to ensure Butler’s mission is served…,” according to the Butler CC website.
