Butler Libraries Launch Children's Book Drive

The Butler CC Libraries and Archives are calling on the community to come together in support of a small Kansas town devastated by a tornado this past May. In response to the destruction of the public library in Grinnell, Butler is collecting gently used children’s books to help rebuild the town’s cherished collection.

The donation drive focuses on collecting children's picture books, chapter books and young adult materials in good condition. These books will be sent to Grinnell to provide much-needed reading materials for local children and teens who have lost access to their library. Those wishing to contribute can drop off their donations at either the Andover or El Dorado campus libraries. Alternatively, books can be shipped directly to: Northwest Kansas Library System, 2 Washington Square, Norton, KS 67654

The initiative serves as a reminder of the power of community support and how a small act—like donating a gently used book—can make a big difference in the lives of others. For more information, visit the Butler Libraries or call their front desk to learn how to get involved.
