Holiday films offer nostalgia during Christmas

Christmas movies exist because they tap into a human need for hope, comfort in nostalgia, analyzing fiction that provides an emotional escape for a stressful season. The holiday creates beloved traditions and helps connect people to happy memories and just offers a sort of entertaining love. Home Alone, The Nightmare before Christmas, Santa is Coming to Town, Elf and The Grinch are nostalgic movies that everyone has seen at least once. 

Christmas movies provide a sort of comfort to people with Christmas movies usually having the family dynamic and always having a plot twist in the middle of it. The films offer a sort of entertaining comfort, and it is normally watched with family and loved ones around Christmas time. Many of them offer a nostalgic feeling and can be an emotional escape in a healthy way by providing good stories like giving back or gratitude, and the endings are usually predictable for happy endings. 

 For example, Home Alone is a family friendly movie that has a family dynamic with a plot twist of a boy named Kevin being left home alone. The film continues with burglars, trying to break into his house, and Kevin uses tricks and traps to leave the house alone. This movie is very iconic and widely regarded as a popular Christmas movie. This movie is so wild. My family and I love it because of the theme of family friendly. You can sit with your family and watch home alone just because it is a nostalgic movie that never gets old and again it is entertaining and exciting.  

Even movies like Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer, although it is not a classic movie, is still an iconic movie and widely loved and popularized by many moviegoers. 

They provide a sense of wholesomeness and can help remind the audience of magical times to reduce holiday stress; they can trigger childhood memories and create a magical moment with families for example. There are lots of movies that had delicious food and it is very popular that people make traditions out of movies like the food and mostly put their own spin on it, but it’s very common that people can get their traditions from movies or can get family fun activities from movies as well. 

Christmas movies are widely known for making a difference during the holiday season especially the old classic ones where you can just sit, turn on a movie and bake cookies, prepare presents and all together. The films provide a sense of calmness during the holiday season that can reduce lots of unnecessary stress.  

Christmas movies can bring people together. For example, there are lots of funny Christmas movies and it is known that if you put a comical Christmas movie on it can bring people together--just buy the comedy and buy the connection again in the movie. 

But altogether it just focuses on romance, family, fun community, social bonding and altogether just provides a sense of nostalgic happiness.
