The Butler CC football team had their fourth match of the season at Coffeyville Community College on Saturday, Sept. 27, which ended in the team’s first loss, 28-31.

The moment has passed, words have been exchanged, time has transpired and suddenly, as if the sun dawns its light in the mind, a clearer picture forms in hindsight. Is this relatable, or is it just me? Often emotions blur perception during situations, though it is personally getting easier to be aware of more in each moment when a little experience is applied, and the internal state is clear. The more a moment appears threatening or potentially unacceptable, the blurrier it can get.

I am returning to Butler again after a 15-year break to travel, nurture the life of a daughter and carry out creative endeavors like tipi building on mountain sides, designing sensory deprivation tank rooms and learning ways to be an authentic, healthy version of myself with elders of many traditions. My first experience at Butler was spent in the photography program’s dark room. That room, film development program and even some of the staff only exist in memory today.

As summer returns, El Dorado State Park's Walnut River Area trail once again invites families and outdoor people to its sandy beach, winding trails and sparkling lake. Nestled just southwest of the dam at El Dorado Lake, this popular spot offers more than 2,000 acres of shoreline, trails, campsites and recreation facilities.
Recently, a new donut shop called Crispy Donuts, located at 2401 W. Central Ave. opened in El Dorado.. Owner Lee Kang and wife, Ctienda, decided to open the location in El Dorado, although there are other locations in Wichita.

On Thursday, June 26 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Butler CC community is welcome to gather and gather to honor Jackie Vietti as she concludes her service as interim president. The event will take place at the Hubbard Welcome Center in the Clifford/Stone Room.
The Butler CC Libraries and Archives are calling on the community to come together in support of a small Kansas town devastated by a tornado this past May. In response to the destruction of the public library in Grinnell, Butler is collecting gently used children’s books to help rebuild the town’s cherished collection.
