Every year for every month, there is a certain type of health awareness that ties in with a month. Domestic Violence Awareness month is held, which was first observed in October 1981. This is able to spread awareness and advocate across the nation for all to prevent and end domestic violence.
In our day-to-day lives politics surround our world and as citizens, we have the right to vote. Being 18 years old, many are eligible to make that decision whether to vote or not. Sometimes voting can be confusing because people are not only voting for the next president. By registering to vote many can vote for other elections too. By voting, you can change lives and make a difference.
The Butler Grizzlies suffered their first conference loss of the season, falling 2-1 to Kansas City Kansas Community College on Saturday, Saturday, Oct. 5, at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex. This defeat brings Butler’s overall record to 9-1-3, with a 9-1-1 mark in conference play.
For the second time in a row, the BCTV crew got to work with ESPN on a national broadcast on Saturday, Sept. 22, as the Butler Grizzlies took on the Snow College Badgers.
Kevin Leiker is a campus police officer at Butler Community College and has been here for almost two years. His primary responsibilities as a campus police officer are safety, security of the students and faculty. They build personal relationships with everybody on campus, according to Leiker.
On the Andover campus at 8:40 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, Butler Public Safety received a call from the Andover Police Department regarding a possible suicide south of the Facilities Building. Upon arrival on campus, this report was confirmed.
Theatre students at Butler CC are thrilled and excitedly preparing for their upcoming productions after countless hours of rehearsing lines and scenes once again. The upcoming play “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane” will have its opening debut on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.
Delta Psi Omega is a dramatic fraternity/society that is used to raise funds for theatre at Butler CC.
