Finding affordable housing has become a growing challenge for many college students, especially those juggling classes, part-time jobs and tight budgets. Across communities, rising rents and limited availability are leaving students with few options and often putting them in a tight spot.
Little efforts to be more authentic can have a profound impact on our overall sense of wellbeing. On a personal level, being authentic has a lot to do with the stage in life a person is at and the needs of that stage. Whether someone is preparing for adulthood, building community and independence in midlife, or navigating how to live a new life at retirement age, the activities we spend time on each day have an impact on whether those needs are met or not.

As summer returns, El Dorado State Park's Walnut River Area trail once again invites families and outdoor people to its sandy beach, winding trails and sparkling lake. Nestled just southwest of the dam at El Dorado Lake, this popular spot offers more than 2,000 acres of shoreline, trails, campsites and recreation facilities.
Recently, a new donut shop called Crispy Donuts, located at 2401 W. Central Ave. opened in El Dorado.. Owner Lee Kang and wife, Ctienda, decided to open the location in El Dorado, although there are other locations in Wichita.

On Thursday, June 26 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Butler CC community is welcome to gather and gather to honor Jackie Vietti as she concludes her service as interim president. The event will take place at the Hubbard Welcome Center in the Clifford/Stone Room.
The Butler CC Libraries and Archives are calling on the community to come together in support of a small Kansas town devastated by a tornado this past May. In response to the destruction of the public library in Grinnell, Butler is collecting gently used children’s books to help rebuild the town’s cherished collection.
Melanie McLemore grew up in a small town in Alabama. In this rural setting, McLemore grew up in church and it took some time to accept her queer identity.
Carter, known as “TC,” leaves behind a legacy defined by athletic excellence and academic achievement. Under his leadership, Butler secured three national championships in football, two in softball and national titles in both the men’s and women’s half-marathon. More than just titles, Carter fostered a culture that developed not only championship teams but also future coaches.
As of recently, many thunderstorms swept through Kansas on Tuesday, June 3. This triggered flash flooding that forced evacuations in El Dorado and surrounding communities.
