Butler Community College's volleyball team hosted a conference opponent on Wednesday, Oct. 2. a much-needed win as it improved their record to .500, sweeping Pratt Community College Beavers 3-0 (25-22), (25-13) and (25-14).
Theatre students at Butler CC are thrilled and excitedly preparing for their upcoming productions after countless hours of rehearsing lines and scenes once again. The upcoming play “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane” will have its opening debut on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.
In a commanding performance at home on Wednesday, Sept. 18, Butler CC swept Garden City CC on three sets (25-22, 25-21 and 25-19).
The Butler Grizzlies continued their unbeaten run in the conference, beating the Seward County Saints 4-1 on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at B.G. Products Veterans Sports Complex.Butler's early pressure finally was rewarded. Scoring opened in just the 8th minute when freshman forward London Ingram scored her 8th goal of the season, giving Butler the 1-0 lead. Still on top, the Grizzlies controlled the game and made several more attempts on goals, including a high shot by Ingram at the 12-minute mark.
In a commanding performance on Saturday, Sept. 14 the Butler Grizzlies cruised to a 41-6 victory over the Independence Pirates at Emmot Field. The Grizzlies, now 2-1, made a statement in their third game of the season, excelling on both sides of the ball and shutting down the Pirates’ offense.
Butler sweeps in season opener
In a hard-fought match, the Butler Grizzlies were defeated last Saturday by Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) 26-23. Never able to get into a good rhythm with the tough squad of NEO, the Grizzlies started well in the match.
In their season opener at BG Products Stadium, the Butler Grizzlies battled Seminole State Raiders to a 1-1 draw in a match that showcased both teams' determination and grit.
