The Butler Grizzlies delivered a great, dominant performance against Pratt Community College on Saturday, Nov. 23, setting the tone for a decisive 103-40 victory at the Power Plant in El Dorado.

The game started on the right foot early for the Grizzlies; their defense managed to stop all Pratt's attempts at a bucket, forcing multiple turnovers and limiting their offensive opportunities. The first points of the game came from freshman forward Kenzie Galliart with a lay-up and free-throw, establishing Butler's momentum from the start. At the same time, Keegan Yarick and Alba Cunill, both sophomore guards, sank crucial three-pointers to extend the Grizzlies’ lead.

Pratt managed just three points in the opening quarter, courtesy of a three-pointer by Sofia Bermejo. Meanwhile, Butler benefited from turnovers and offensive rebounds to end the first quarter with a dominant 23-3 lead.

In the second quarter, Pratt attempted to gain some rhythm, adding 14 points. However, Butler’s relentless offensive pressure and depth proved overwhelming. Freshman guards Ashley Singhateh and Galliart continued to shine, while Mya Mayberry and Destiny Smith, both freshmen guards, facilitated fast-paced transitions. By halftime, Butler had surged to a commanding 50-17 advantage.

The Butler County Homeless Initiative (BHI), also known as Refuge in the Storm El Dorado (RISE), is a homeless shelter in El Dorado supporting those in need. They help to acquire identification cards, assist with housing applications, resumes and employment applications. In addition, they also partner with other community organizations for addiction treatment and mental health care. For Thanksgiving, they are arranging a big meal for those at the shelter, although the non-profit organization does this all year-round, too. 

Not long ago, Donald Trump successfully won the American election. Before running for president, acting in the film The Apprentice (2024) with Sebastian Stan as the main actor hit the big screen. The name comes from Trump's reality TV show The Apprentice. The plot of the film also echoes the content of the TV show, which tells the story of young Trump's rise to become a business tycoon step by step. So, who was Trump’s mentor? The results speak in the movie, taking us all the way back to 1969.

Jean Paul Satre’s “No Exit”, and adapted by Paul Bowles, will debut on today at 7 p.m. and continue its run through Saturday, Nov. 23 with a matinee showing also at 2 p.m.  

Throughout the years, hurricanes and terrible weather has taken place in many states hitting Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina and most of all Florida. Recently in 2024, Florida has gotten hit the most. Approximately 500 tropical cyclones have affected the state of Florida. Lately, the hurricane season in Florida is more active than average.  

In a low-scoring opposition, between Butler Community College Grizzlies and Iowa Central Community College Tritons, the Grizzlies escaped with a 7-3 victory on Saturday, Nov. 16. The game remained a defensive standoff until the closing seconds, when Butler punched in the game-winning touchdown with just five seconds remaining. 

The Grizzlies continued their outstanding start of the season by having an amazing weekend defeating Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Norsemen (85-82) and Allen County Red Devils in Arkansas City (91-84) on Friday, Nov. 8 and Saturday, Nov. 9.

Despite this coverage, many Chinese citizens feel a sense of neutrality about the U.S. elections, observing it as an interesting yet distant spectacle.
